G2003 White - CSL Bronze West - 2nd Place

By SMU Staff, 12/06/17, 8:45AM PST

Beginning in pre-season with a championship and finalist finish in two tournaments, the Girls 2003 White team demonstrated they would have a strong showing in the Fall CSL Bronze League. How accurate that prediction was, as the girls jockeyed between 1st and 2nd place all season long before finishing in 2nd place.

While every teammate contributed, the girls were especially boosted towards the top of their league with solid defense from their back line and primary goalkeeper, Nili Kovacs, by only allowing a league-best 10 goals against including five shutouts, their entire season. The girls are also very proud to boast they were the sole team to not accumulate any cards against them.

Their finish is a testament to their positive attitudes, strong work ethic during games & practices, and fitness level expectations promoted by Head Coach, Matt Salem, and Assistant Coach, Alex Racca. The girls will compete at the Nomads Tournament in San Diego over the Thanksgiving Holiday before going on hiatus for the high school season.

With this season-long strong performance, the team has a high likelihood of being promoted to Silver in 2018.
