Fabian Amezaga has been a part of the SMU family since 2012, with over 16 years of experience coaching youth soccer. In his time with SMU, he has served as a coach for both boys and girls at the middle and high school level, celebrating numerous championships and promotions. His greatest accomplishments are taking the G01 (currently ranked 7th in Southern California) from Bronze to Premier in 5 years, winning a state and a national cup championship along the way, and just recently leading the G98 to the club’s first CSL League Cup championship. Four members of the G98 are already committed to play soccer in college. Fab was the recipient of the CalSouth Nike Excellence in Coaching Award in 2016.
In his practices, Fab focuses on player's personal growth and team play. He is a strong believer that no one player is bigger than the team. Fab believes that soccer is truly a team sport and that a team does not depend on individual star players, but rather the cohesiveness of the entire roster working towards one main goal and objective. "Soccer is about making sure we do the simple things really well. If we can do the basics right it makes the game a lot easier. "
Fab lives in Santa Monica and when he is not on the soccer field, he spends time with his wife, 7 year old daughter and 4 year old son.
Fab is looking forward to collaborating with his fellow SMU coaches to develop your sons and daughters and take them to the next level.
Arron Craggs grew up in York, England and started playing soccer at age eleven.
Aaron joined SMU in 2009, serving as a coach for both boys and girls. He has celebrated numerous championships and promotions. His greatest accomplishments are winning two CSL Premier Championships, State Cup, being a finalist at the prestigious Dallas Cup in the u17 Super Group and winning the NPL Southern California Championship. His current B2000 are currently ranked #1 in Southern California and have been accepted to this year’s Dallas Cup, which is only the second team to be invited in Santa Monica history. Aaron was the recipient of the CalSouth Nike Developmental Coach of the Year award in 2014.
Arron's philosophy in his own words: "My coaching philosophy is to create teams who collectively want to reach the same goals as the coaching staff. I believe success is initiated by the whole squad’s ability to be organized and disciplined in an environment they develop and have fun. Winning games is a result of everyone performing consistently at the highest attainable level, with a desire and motivation not matched by opponents."
Arron lives with his wife in Westchester and when he is not on the soccer field, he works as a real estate agent for The Agency in the Venice Office.
Arron is looking forward to collaborating with his fellow SMU coaches to support them in their quest to help your sons and daughters reach their highest potential.
